Although it deviates from the traditional Ashtanga practice, music can function as an important motivator for students. When creating playlists, I carefully select songs based on timing and arrange them by BPM (beats per measure); I also insert silent tracks for cueing and transition purposes. Generally, I select instrumental music to enhance students’ internal focus.
